J. Purdey & Sons, A fine pair of Ken Hunt engraved self-opening 12 bore sidelock ejector guns, Nos. 27413 & 27414, with 28" barrels, the actions finely engraved with named race horses; the No. 1 gun with 'Hydora' in the parade ring and 'Hydora' mid jump alongside another horse, the No. 2 gun with 'Toyette' clearing a jump and 'Top Twenty' in the ring, with cocking indicators, the undersides of the actions and trigger guards with deep foliate scroll engraving , each signed K.C. Hunt, numbered in usual places, nitro proof, in their original leather motoring case and custom made suede outer case
The makers have kindly confirmed that the guns were completed in September 1967
Weatherby's have been able to confirm that Hydora was foaled in 1939, he won two races on the flat and three over jumps; Top Twenty was foaled in 1949 and won three races on the flat and eleven over jumps; and Toyette was foaled in 1937 and won one race over jumps.
