Valuation Days in London

Cheffins Fine Art Auctioneers and Valuers to Host Valuation Days in Hampstead and Finchley

Cheffins Fine Art Auctioneers is hosting two valuation days in Hampstead and Finchley on the 4th and 5th of October.  Cheffins’ specialist valuers will be on hand to offer free valuations of any items with no obligation to sell.

Based in Cambridge with purpose built salerooms close to the mainline station, Cheffins holds over 40 specialist and Fine Art auctions throughout the year.

Recent successful sales for London clients include a JMW Turner Study of a Moorhen, an important Asscher cut flawless diamond ring and a picture of Hampstead Heath by well-known artist, FW Watts. Last year, Cheffins was delighted to sell the Eila Grahame Collection, from the estate of the renowned London antique dealer, from which many items fetched world record prices.  This October Cheffins will sell the remainder of the Eila Grahame Collection including a previously unseen drawing by Alberto Giacometti.

Brett Tryner, Valuer, Cheffins comments: “We are very excited to be bringing the Cheffins team of specialists to North London for these two valuation days. Occasions such as these are often when we might find a rare or unusual painting which has been gathering dust in an attic or a stunning oriental vase which has been used as an umbrella stand for decades. We never know what we might come across so we would like to encourage people to bring along anything which they think could be of interest.  Anything is welcome; for example, jewellery, watches, paintings, ceramics, books. We will also be available to arrange home visits for items which are too large to be brought to the valuation day.”

“Cheffins’ success remains firmly rooted in our traditional values of personal service and confidentiality, combined with a wide range and depth of expertise. We are widely respected in the international marketplace with regular clients from over 60 countries. Our head office and salerooms, situated in the internationally recognised university city of Cambridge, are less than an hour from North London and we can offer a competitive commission rate to central London auction houses. We are looking forward to our two events and building on the previous successes we have had with London-based clients.”
