ITEMS MARKED WITH AN "X"

Any item in the Sale marked with a Lot number followed by an "X" denotes that the description of that particular lot is different from the original lot as shown in this catalogue. Therefore, any items marked with a lot number followed by an "X" must not be connected with the original lot number in the catalogue, and its description will be absolutely as given out by the Auctioneer at the time of Sale. The addition of an "X" to a lot will cancel the original entry in the catalogue.

FROST PRECAUTIONS

Purchasers of TRACTORS and other machines with watercooled engines, also OWNERS of unsold items, are reminded that the Auctioneers DO NOT ACCEPT any responsibility for precautions against damage by frost. Owners of machines that are not being removed on the day of the Sale are advised to either drain all water or ensure that there is suitable protection against damage by frost.

HEALTH AND SAFETY ACTS

THE FOLLOWING NOTES ARE ISSUED AS GUIDANCE ON SAFE WORKING PRACTICES TO BE ADOPTED AT BRISTOL MACHINERY SALES.

1. If starting tractors across the solenoid, please ensure two people are present, one person being in the driving seat having control of the clutch and brakes, and that the tractor is in neutral.

2. Crossing tractors on a lorry is not recommended. It should only be undertaken by experienced drivers and having a forklift "catcher"
present.

3. Please drive around the yard slowly and sensibly as all times, and be aware of pedestrians.

4. Prior to unloading, please check brakes, clutch and position of the engine stop.

5. Machines must not be left running unattended at any time under any circumstances. Please ensure you stop any machines you have had running and remove the key before you leave them.

PLEASE ENSURE THIS INFORMATION IS PASSED ONTO ANY HAULIER EMPLOYED BY YOU.

ACT 1974, the AGRICULTURE (FIELD MACHINERY) REGULATIONS 1962, AGRICULTURAL (TRACTOR CABS) REGULATIONS 1974, & ALL OTHER ACTS & REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO FARM SAFETY. Purchasers are reminded of the provisions of the above Acts regarding the safety guarding of Machinery and Implements, and that some of the machinery sold at this sale may not immediately comply with the Regulations issued thereunder. IMPORTANT NOTICE

SALE DAY LOADING.

Like any business, we have a duty to safeguard the health and safety of both our staff and people attending our auctions and loading on sale day has raised safety concerns.

In order, however, to facilitate the loading requirements of buyers and vendors we are now introducing a strictly supervised loading service on sale day once all sales are finished. Loading may be carried out by Cheffins staff using our forklifts. Buyers/vendors using mechanical lifting equipment may load themselves only if supervised by the loading staff. There will be no exceptions to these arrangements on sale day.

WARRANTIES AND GUARANTEES

All lots are sold "as seen". No warranties or guarantees are given or implied by either the vendor or auctioneers. Purchasers are strongly advised to inspect the goods prior to bidding/purchase.

NOTICE TO BUYERS DUPLICATE V5 REGISTRATION DOCUMENTS

Unfortunately, vendors are sometimes unable to provide the V5 Registation Documents for tractors and other road registered lots which have been sold in our auctions.

Providing such lots have previously been registered and have a registration number, we are able to apply for a duplicate Registration Document on behalf of the purchaser. A fee of £30 per application will be charged for this service.
