VIEWING The sale may ONLY be viewed at the following times.
Tuesday, 11th March 2008 from 10.00am to 4.00pm
Morning of the Sale from 8.00am onwards
VALUE ADDED TAX
VAT at the current rate is payable on all lots in addition to the hammer price unless otherwise stated at the time of sale. OVERSEAS PURCHASERS to note amendment to our Standard Terms and Conditions, see Section 2.
HOURS/MILEAGE
The figures stated in the catalogue are believed to be correct at the time of cataloguing (30/01/08). Purchasers should satisfy themselves of the correctness of the hours/mileage.
AUCTION CONDITIONS
The attention of Purchasers is drawn to the Conditions of Sale included in the catalogue.
REMOVAL OF LOTS
All lots must be paid for on the day of sale and all lots without exception must be removed by no later than Wednesday, 19th March 2008.
RISK
The Bidder is on risk once the hammer falls and is strongly advised to effect insurance at once.
NO LOTS MAY BE TRANSFERRED
The Auctioneer will only accept payment from and permit removal of lots purchased by the Purchasers successfully bidding at the sale or his Agents.
BUYER’S BID NUMBERS
The Auctioneers propose to operate a buyer bid number system. Purchasers are, therefore, requested to attend at the Sales Office during View Day or prior to the commencement of the Sale, so that full details of the intending Purchaser’s name, address, bankers and other relevant information may be recorded please bring a method of identification. You will then be given a bidding number. Failure to obtain a buyer’s bid card may result in the Auctioneer refusing to accept your bid. If you have a Machinery Bidding Number for the Cambridge monthly machinery sales at Sutton or a permanent Vintage Number please use this.
METHOD OF PAYMENT
CASH ON DAY OF SALE All lots must be paid for on the day of sale. Purchasers unknown to the Auctioneers and wishing to pay by cheque must make one of the following arrangements BEFORE the day of sale.
1. Inform your own Bank Manager that you wish to pay by cheque, tell him the maximum amount you are likely to spend and ask him to instruct our Bankers that it will be in order to accept your cheque. Our Bankers will then inform us. Our Bank is Barclays Bank plc. PO Box No.885, Mortlock House, Vision Park, Histon, Cambridge, CB24 9DE Fax: 01223 545557. Please specify date and place of sale.
2. Arrange with your Bank Manager for the issue of a guaranteed cheque to be brought with you.
3. Provide a letter from your Bank stating the amount up to which your cheque will be honoured. Fax copies and photocopies are NOT acceptable and the letter must specify the sale and date.
4. Overseas payments should be made by Inter Bank transfer using SWIFT to Barclays Bank Bene’t Street, Cambridge Sort Code 20 17 19 quoting Cheffins Auction Account Client No. 3 Account No: 50287628. IBAN No. GB17 BARC 201719 50287628 SWIFT CODE: BARCGB22 quote sort code and then a/c number as above, Your name or invoice number
5. Payment can be made by Visa & Mastercard Credit Cards; a surcharge of 1.35% plus VAT will be added to the invoice total for this method of payment. We also accept payment by Switch/Maestro or Visa/Delta Debit Cards for which there is no additional charge.
MONEY LAUNDERING REGULATIONS 2003
In order to comply with these regulations, we are no longer able to accept cash payment for sums in excess of £7,500. This includes single payments amounting to this sum or multiple payments totalling £7,500.
